My first memory of baking was helping my mom make her one and only baking recipe: sponge cake. I remember the delicate process of separating the yolks from the whites, whipping the cream to peak perfection, and flipping the cakes over right when they come out of the oven or else they “deflate.” But there was such hope and anticipation of something delicious to enjoy after all the careful work and time.

In my senior year at UC Irvine (zot! zot!) I started trying recipes and, encouraged by friends, kept baking. In grad school, baking not only became a hobby but a de-stressor. I just love getting lost in a recipe and forgetting about everything else.

In September 2014, I relocated to Seattle, after working for nonprofits a few years in San Francisco. I’m continuing my love of baking in my tiny slightly bigger kitchen. I love the process of taking ingredients and creating something wonderful for others to enjoy. Good food makes people happy. After all the best part of baking is sharing ❤
